The Islington Nest is ideal, as that's where she'd feel most at home. She could potentially
A 6th century noble, Annalise lived a life of (limited) power and pampery. The Cainhurst family was never especially known for their kindness, but they were known. A family that wielded influence like the sharpest of sabres, they were never wanting for anything except modern standards of hygiene.
As an adult, Annalise took the family throne, and her reign was brutal. Some stories say through occult ritual, some say a gift from a foreign noble, but some years into her reign it was noted that Annalise was no longer seen during the day and young peasants would often go missing in the dead of night. Something people cared little about and things that wouldn't come to be linked for decades.
Some 30 years into her rule, family Cainhurst decided they cared little for secrecy. The bloodiness of her rule became an open secret, in many ways funded by the aristocracy who either hoped she'd share her secrets with them, or that she'd not turn her family's ire toward them. The vampires became known as the Cainhurst vilebloods, and their sphere of influence in the vampire world of the age was not small. Nor was the family's body count.
They ruled over their little area for near 1000 years — rarely engaging with the outside world but for gifts brought from afar. Castle Cainhurst was a horror story mired in ostentatious bloodsport and decadance. Tales spread far and wide, but the outlandishness kept them well stocked in blood. Tourists curious about the stories and workers whose hunger outweighed their caution weren't exactly hard to come by.
This all changed when a band of hunters came calling.
The entire castle was slaughtered, save Annalise who was instead left to rot. A powerful spell sealed the castle away where none could see and a guard was tasked to watch it - his life tied to the spell. The Vilebloods were systematically erased from every record until all that remained were rumours and offhand comments in the occasional occult text.
Her legacy erased and her people slaughtered, Annalise stayed alone in her decaying castle for some 400 years, feeding on whatever vermin found its way into the throne room to stave off the madness. She spent centuries sat alone and humiliated until a wandering soul killed the guard and shattered the spell. Pledging their allegiance to her in exchange for her blood so that they too could become a Vileblood.
She agreed, and this new Vileblood became her vassal — someone to ease her in to the new world and help her adjust in these times of rapid change. It's taken her most of this last century to get used to trains, she... Really needs the help.
